Little Acorns

This is a small pencil sketch of some oak leaves and their little acorns.  It was done with Fabre-Castell watercolour pencils and a small watercolour brush.  I wanted to see how small I could go and still put in some textural detail in the acorn cups.  The actual drawing is two and a half inches across.

Here’s a slightly enlarged photo of the drawing…

  1. Well done Jo. I just the other day found a box of minatures I had done years ago. I looked at them with disgust. Now, years on, I know I can do so much better, so am going to paint over them. You have given yourself a real challenge here and completed it with total sucess. Congratulations. Happy New Year to you and your son.
